Batman vs Superman..All The Fuss

Just a short blurb this week. About this movie that has gotten all of this attention. Not meant for me to understand it so I won’t try.

Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice

First Thoughts

These first thoughts would be in 2014, since this is when I first heard they were doing a Batman vs. Superman movie. First thought was yay! Awesome! Heard they were trying to get Denzel for Lex Luthor, yay! Fantastic, can’t wait! Then, I heard Ben Affleck was to be Batman. Hmmm. I was okay with Henry Cavill as Superman. Then, they added Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. Nooooo. Those were the first thoughts.

Batman takes on the man of steel, fearing his actions are left unchecked.  While they are fighting, Lex Luthor hatches up a supervillain, Doomsday. It’s up to Superman and Batman to set aside their differences along with Wonder Woman to stop Lex Luthor and Doomsday from destroying Metropolis.

2 cupcakes out of 5. Eh.

Now, when I go into a movie and start asking questions about the story five minutes in? Bad sign. I kept wanting the story to grab me but it never did. It was really just all over the place, too many side storylines that interfered with the main one. Which left me just confused and bored. But I did give it 2 cupcakes. For the special effects, they were great. For the eye candy, that would be a yes. And Wonder Woman. She was only in for seven minutes but those seven minutes were fantastic! The Aquaman appearance was nice too.The bad parts. Lex Luthor. I like Jesse, I promise I do. But….just no. Diane Lane still does not sit well for me as Superman’s mom. Are we really supposed to believe she’s that old? The story was so taxing that I fell asleep for ten minutes, in the middle of the afternoon. Umph. And I was checking the time, seeing how much longer I had. So there you go. Not as bad as some people are making it out to be. But not really good either.
