November Wonders …

Trying a new thing going into 2018 …

Cupcake Spotlight

The “Wonder” Cupcake

With this cupcake, I am kind of giving my book/movie spotlight away but it’s okay. When I first think of the word wonder, I think  of snow capped mountains because …. wait for it … winter wonderland?! Get it?

Yeah, I’m corny.

Anyway, doesn’t this cupcake kind of look like a snow capped mountain? I think so. White buttercream, yellow cake and blue sugar sparkles. And here’s the kicker. I came up with this all on my own! Made it by myself! So proud of myself. I think it’s pretty.

Cocktail Spotlight

Mudslide

What goes better with a snow capped mountain? The best cold weather cocktail, a Mudslide. A mix of vodka, Kahlua, and Bailey’s Irish Cream. Mmmmm.

Book/Movie Spotlight

Wonder

First Thoughts:

This book came out years ago, didn’t read until fairly recently. Excellent story idea though. I was all in, especially agreed with making it a movie.

Premise:

Based on the New York Times bestseller, WONDER tells the incredibly inspiring and heartwarming story of August Pullman, a boy with facial differences who enters fifth grade, attending a mainstream elementary school for the first time.

Verdict:

5 cupcakes

Yep. It was that good. I won’t go into big details of the story but just think about the cast for a minute. Julia Roberts as the mother, Owen Wilson as the father (please see Marley & Me) Jacob Tremblay as the main character August Pullman. It’s such a heartfelt story on life, and the human journey, and social anxiety, especially as you grow older. And how you treat people that are different from you.

Go see it.
